Peace is under siege. Political divisions, social tensions, economic uncertainty, and spiritual warfare all compete for the territory of your inner life. But Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid" (John 14:27).

Protecting your peace starts with guarding your gates: what you watch, what you read, what conversations you entertain, and what thoughts you allow to take up residence. Not every piece of information deserves your attention, and not every battle deserves your energy.

Philippians 4:6-7 gives us a practical strategy: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Prayer is not an escape from reality. It is the most powerful engagement with reality available to a believer.

Set intentional boundaries. Learn to say no to conversations that drain you without building you. Step away from media cycles that breed fear rather than faith. Surround yourself with people who speak life, truth, and hope.

Peace is not the absence of conflict. It is the presence of God in the middle of conflict. When you anchor your identity and your security in Christ, the waves may rise, but they cannot reach your foundation. Guard your peace. It is a gift from God, and it is worth protecting.
